Family Dollar Stores Of South Carolina LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role involves supervising daily activities, organizing merchandise, upholding company standards, and helping manage staff while ensuring a positive customer experience. The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repetitive movements in a high-energy environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping ( payroll, scheduling, cash handling ), and loss prevention.
• Maintain neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and associates.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
