Job summary

NAPA Auto Parts in Sarasota, FL seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead daily store operations, coach team members and maintain high service standards. You will balance customer-facing sales with back‑end tasks such as inventory, deliveries, housekeeping and compliance, coaching staff to execute tasks accurately.

This role develops into Store Manager pathways, may require overtime hours, and includes keyholder responsibilities opening and closing the store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive aftermarket or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience.
• Passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.
• Thrives in a fast-paced and complex environment.
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory systems.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Background in automotive, heavy equipment, diesel, marine, or dealership industries.
• Experience in a parts/retail environment.
• Customer-centric attitude.
• ASE certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution and labor scheduling.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute opening/closing routines including cash reconciliation and reporting.
• Handle administrative tasks like scheduling and compliance documentation.
• Monitor store metrics and solve problems to maintain performance.
• Provide leadership, coaching and performance management across store functions.
• Support talent development and mentor successors.
• Drive safety, asset protection and continuous improvement initiatives.
