Job summary

GPC Genuine Parts Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead day-to-day operations of our NAPA retail store. You will support the Store Manager while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities, overseeing counter sales, inventory, deliveries, and housekeeping.

You will coach team members, monitor progress, and step in to ensure standards, coverage, and continuity. The role includes potential overtime and keyholder duties opening/closing the store as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in the automotive after-market service industry or willingness to learn all things automotive.
• Leadership experience and passion for delivering customer care and building long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

• Partner daily with Store Manager on operations, sales execution, inventory health, labor/scheduling alignment, and team performance.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across retail and wholesale channels.
• Model expected behaviors, processes, and customer standards.
• Execute or oversee opening and closing routines (security, cash reconciliation, end-of-day reporting, facility readiness).
• Handle or support scheduling input, compliance documentation, performance tracking/reporting, and basic P&L awareness items.
• Monitor core store metrics (sales, inventory accuracy/turn, customer satisfaction, cleanliness/organization, labor efficiency, loss prevention) and solve problems.
• Provide leadership oversight, training and performance management for store functions; coach and mentor successors.
• Drive adherence to safety, asset protection, operational processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
