Job summary

The Assistant Store Manager at NAPA Auto Parts uses automotive knowledge, customer service, and leadership to operate the retail store and drive market leadership. You support the Store Manager across all functions while maintaining active customer-facing sales responsibilities, overseeing counter sales, inventory/receiving, delivery coordination, and housekeeping to sustain standards and coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or technical/trade schooling.
• Experience in automotive aftermarket or related field preferred.
• Strong leadership and customer-care focus.
• Willing to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and cataloging.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and operate in retail/warehouse setting.
• Experience in a parts store or retail management helpful.
• ASE Certifications a plus; NAPA Know How valued.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Store Manager on daily operations, sales, and scheduling.
• Actively sell and build customer relationships across channels.
• Lead opening/closing routines and ensure store readiness.
• Coach team, monitor performance, and ensure continuity.
• Oversight of inventory, receiving, and housekeeping tasks.
• Drive safety, asset protection and continuous improvement.
