General Summary:
As a Family Dollar Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers and assisting the Store Manager with daily store operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventories, store appearance, and completing daily paperwork.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greets and assists customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answers questions and resolves customer inquiries and concerns.
- Maintains a presence in the store by providing excellent customer service.
- Ensures a clean, well-stocked store for customers.
- Supervises, trains, and develops Store Associates under the Store Manager's guidance.
- Assists in unloading merchandise, organizing stock, and transferring merchandise from stockroom to store.
- Helps in ordering merchandise, record keeping, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
- Supports loss prevention efforts.
- Assumes management responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Preferably in retail, grocery, or drug store management.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 55 lbs. Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift frequently.
- Availability: Flexible, full-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Skills & Competencies: Customer focus, developing potential, results-driven, organizational skills, communication, problem-solving, job knowledge, and relationship management.
