Job Title: Assistant Store Manager
Department: Donated Goods Retail (DGR)
Reports To: Store Manager
FLSA Status: NonExempt
Position Summary:
Under the leadership of the Store Manager and District Director, the Assistant Store Manager will assist with the day-to-day operations and management of the store and donation area. To ensure efficient and cost-effective operation through world-class customer service, processing donated goods, quality control, and maintaining a productive workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage daily store operations, including opening/closing and supervising store employees.
- Follow the established rotating schedule unless directed otherwise.
- Maintain availability to support management needs outside of scheduled hours.
- Participate in weekly interviews to maintain staffing levels aligned with budgets.
- Complete daily management duties as assigned by GWH leadership.
- Engage in required training and development activities.
- Communicate clear goals to the team and influence performance.
- Handle sales transactions accurately and maintain cash accountability.
- Create and post staff schedules using the HRM system.
- Train, coach, and document team member performance.
- Assist with hiring, firing, and personnel actions.
- Order store supplies and manage bank deposits.
- Supervise donation processing and ensure proper handling of incoming donations.
- Conduct walking rounds (CBWA) to monitor team performance.
- Operate store systems and ensure accurate counts and reporting.
- Ensure proper rotation of inventory according to policies.
- Maintain punctuality and dependable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
- 1-2 years retail sales experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible hours.
- Reliable transportation required.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Stand/walk for entire shift, push/pull, bend, reach, climb ladders, lift up to 40 lbs. Indoor environment with moderate noise. Must work safely and maintain cleanliness.
