Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise from delivery to sales floor, and help ensure seasonal areas are well maintained.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to safety and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and store communications
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect store assets, including store cash, and follow safety policies
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Ensure cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
