Safeway is seeking a proactive Assistant Store Director to partner with the Store Director in day-to-day store operations. The role emphasizes leadership, staffing, budget adherence, and delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include supervising front-end staff, forecasting weekly sales, scheduling labor, maintaining store standards, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Experience in retail management and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education and experience required for store leadership roles.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Four+ years in retail or management; grocery experience preferred.
• Experience supervising and training staff in a multi-department operation.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily store operations in absence of Store Director.
• Manage front-end operations and supervise front-end staff.
• Forecast sales and manage labor within budgets.
• Control cash, inventory, security, and store conditions.
• Lead hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Maintain safety, sanitation, and customer service standards.
• Collaborate with Store Director on strategy and promotions.
• Interview and select applicants for hire.
