Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking an Assistant Store Director to share day-to-day store leadership with the Store Director and ensure smooth operations in their absence.

The role oversees store performance, cash control, inventory, safety, and staff development while aligning with company policies and wage budgets. Strong leadership, communication, and front-end management are essential, with opportunities for growth within the Northern California Division.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• Four or more years retail or managerial experience required.
• Retail grocery experience preferred.
• Experience in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions is expected.

Responsibilities

• Overall management responsibility for the operation of a retail grocery store during absence of the Store Director.
• Supervise the front end manager and direct, discipline and evaluate front end clerks.
• Forecast, schedule, and monitor labor to meet sales and wage budgets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, and sanitation.
• Interview and select applicants for hire and promotion.
• Maintain professional relationships with union officials when applicable.
