Job summary

Meijer Canton is seeking an Assistant Store Director to lead day-to-day store operations and drive exceptional customer service and sales growth.

You will focus on talent development, merchandising execution, cost control, and community engagement, with emphasis on leadership, communication and adherence to Meijer standards and values. This role requires strategic staffing, accountability, and a commitment to store profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree requirement or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in retail/grocery/ops management.
• 4+ years of progressive leadership experience.
• Strong business acumen and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall store operations and planograms across food and general merchandise.
• Manage store leadership and engagement to deliver the best customer experience.
• Develop and execute staffing plans to meet forecasted needs and drive profitability.
• Foster a culture of care, inclusion, and accountability while meeting safety standards.
• Drive initiatives to improve service, sales, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure merchandising standards are followed and community partnerships are built.
