Job summary

Grand Hyatt San Diego is seeking a hands-on and highly organized Assistant Stewarding Manager to support the daily operations of the Stewarding Department. This role helps maintain cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and efficiency across kitchens, restaurants, banquet operations and F&B outlets.

You will lead stewarding staff, coordinate scheduling, train associates, and partner with Culinary, F&B, Banquets, and Engineering to ensure Hyatt standards and health regulations are met in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Leadership experience within culinary or hotel operations.
• Experience in high-volume hotel, resort, banquet, or convention operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, cleaning procedures, and chemical safety.
• Strong verbal communication and guest service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily management of the Stewarding Department across kitchens, restaurants, banquets, and F&B support areas.
• Supervise and coach stewarding associates for efficient execution.
• Plan staffing, assignments, breaks, and priorities based on business levels.
• Maintain clean, sanitary environments in back-of-house areas and service spaces.
• Ensure equipment and smallware inventories are adequate and well maintained.
• Perform regular inspections to comply with health regulations and Hyatt standards.
• Coordinate with Culinary, F&B, Banquets, and Engineering for timely support.
• Assist with scheduling, payroll, purchasing, inventory controls, and reporting.
• Train new associates and reinforce procedures, service standards, sanitation practices, and safety expectations.
