Job summary

Boyd Gaming is seeking a reliable person to load horses into starting gates and assist with scheduling and schooling at our racing facility in Louisiana. You will help identify unruly horses and ensure they are schooled before the next race.

Candidates must be 18+, have strong horse-handling and communication skills, and be able to work outdoors in various weather. Prior related experience is preferred, and physical agility plus any required licenses are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in a similar position preferred.
• Skilled horse handler.
• Ability to work with horsemen and give directions.
• Excellent communication and physical agility; able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in varying weather; licenses may be required.

Job Description

• Load horses into the starting gates.
• Assist with scheduling & supervising of schooling of horses.
• Assist with listing of horses that are unruly in the starting gates; help toensure they are schooled before they race again.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in a similar position preferred.
• Must be a skilled horse handler.
• Must be able to work with horsemen and give directions.
• Must have excellent communication skills.Must be physically agile and able to stand and walk, climb, reach, lift, bend, andwork outside in various weather conditions.Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
