Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking personnel to load horses into the starting gates and assist with schooling and scheduling. The role includes ensuring unruly horses are identified and properly schooled before racing again.

The position requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather, strong communication with horsemen, and adherence to safety and licensing requirements. This entry-level role is essential to maintain smooth race operations at the venue.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior experience in a similar position preferred.
• Must be a skilled horse handler.
• Must be able to work with horsemen and give directions.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be physically agile and able to stand and walk, climb, reach, lift, bend, and work outside in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

• Load horses into the starting gates.
• Assist with scheduling & supervising the schooling of horses.
• Assist with listing of horses that are unruly in the starting gates; help to ensure they are schooled before they race again.
