Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay seeks an Assistant Site Director in Pleasant Hill to support the Site Director in running a child care site. You will supervise staff, help plan activities, ensure safety, and maintain strong parent relations in a dynamic, youth-focused program.

The role requires leadership, adherence to licensing standards and strong communication, with responsibilities including opening/closing the site and program operations in the director's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; AA in Early Childhood Development preferred.
• Coursework to meet State of California licensing standards.
• 2 years of experience in professional child care or school-aged program.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups in the community.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs required.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Director in developing and implementing age-appropriate activities in line with YMCA philosophy.
• Operate the site in the Site Director's absence and supervise staff.
• Maintain supervision of assigned group at all times and manage behavior per site standards.
• Prepare forms, records and files as requested by Site Director or Program Director.
• Plan monthly activity calendar and assist in snack preparation and service.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents and ensure a safe, healthy environment.
