Job summary

Take 5 Oil Change seeks an Assistant Shop Manager to guide a fast-paced team on the shop floor, ensuring top-notch customer experiences and efficient daily operations. You’ll support the Shop Manager, develop the team, and step in as Manager on Duty when needed, with paid training and clear growth paths.

Automotive experience is valued but not required; strong communication, accountability, and a calm, solution‑oriented approach are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months’ customer service experience in a fast-paced service environment.
• Minimum 6 months’ experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Commitment to following and maintaining facility and safety policies.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coach and provide feedback.
• Initiative, accountability and follow-through on responsibilities.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy periods.
• Ability to meet applicable age and certification requirements, including Inspector Certification when required.
• Reliable transportation to and from your work location.

Responsibilities

• Complete our Certified Technician training.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when needed by coordinating workflow and helping the team deliver safe, efficient, high-quality service.
• Model fast, friendly customer service, respond to customer needs, and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure services are completed accurately and consistently while reinforcing company procedures, safety requirements, and service standards.
• Support shop performance by identifying opportunities for improvement and taking on additional leadership responsibilities when the Shop Manager is unavailable.
• Train new team members, provide real-time coaching and feedback, reinforce expectations, and recognize strong performance.
• Perform all Certified Technician and Lead Technician responsibilities.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Assist with daily inventory counts and adjustments.
• Support shop communication, reporting, and operational follow-up.
