Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking an Assistant Cafeteria Manager at Carolina Forest High in Myrtle Beach, SC. You will assist the Cafeteria Manager to serve students nutritious meals in a clean, efficient environment, supervise food service staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with sanitation standards.

This full-time role operates on a 188-day schedule with responsibilities including receiving deliveries, portion control, and cash handling.

Qualifications

High School diploma required.
Previous food service experience required.
Experience in school food service preferred.

Responsibilities

Receiving deliveries: verify bid specs and price against invoice and quantities.
Storage: ensure stock is stored properly and rotated.
Pre-preparation: supervise/participate in production of scheduled menu items and record data.
Service: supervise/participate in service of food and ensure portion-controlled items.
Meal count/cash collection: supervise/count meals and handle cash per policy.
Sanitation: supervise sanitation per procedures.
Attend a 10-hour Sanitation and Safety Workshop.
Inventory: record and report inventory levels.
Physical effort: lifting 30–50 pounds, sweeping and mopping.
Work environment: kitchen with heat, steam, and moving equipment.
