Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking an Assistant Cafeteria Manager at Ten Oaks Middle School to oversee daily meal preparation, service, and safety in a busy school kitchen. The role focuses on delivering attractive, nutritious meals while maintaining cleanliness and efficiency.

Responsibilities include receiving goods, rotating stock, supervising production, managing service, counting meals and cash, maintaining sanitation, inventory, and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience required.
• Previous school food service experience preferred.
• Quality food production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receiving: match bid specifications with delivered product, match bid price with invoice price, match quantity requested with quantity delivered, report discrepancies to manager.
• Storage: ensure that stock is properly stored and rotated in the appropriate area.
• Pre-Preparation: supervise/participate in production of scheduled menu items; record applicable production data on forms.
• Service: supervise/participate in the service of food ensuring attractively merchandised and portion-controlled menu items; record production data on forms.
• Meal Count/Cash Collection: supervise/participate in the meal count/cash collection in accordance with accountability requirements.
• Sanitation: supervise/participate in general sanitation of the food service operation.
• Inventory: conduct/assist with timely recording/extension reporting of inventory stock levels.
• Physical Effort: frequent lifting or moving of objects weighing 30 to 50 pounds; sweeping and mopping.
• Equipment Condition: operate meat slicers, food choppers, garbage disposals, etc.
