CPKC in Beaumont, Texas seeks an Assistant Roadmaster to lead track infrastructure safety and reliability across the assigned area, working with the Roadmaster to deliver cost-efficient engineering solutions while maintaining FRA compliance.

This safety-sensitive role includes coordinating emergency responses, capital planning, and ensuring adherence to the collective bargaining agreement, with a signing bonus of $10,000 for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and valid driver’s license.
• 2+ years of railroad experience in track maintenance.
• Minimum 1 year leading track renewal crews.
• Familiar with FRA regulations and the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Support the Roadmaster in enforcing safety practices and procedures among all direct reports.
• Contribute to achieving compliance, service, and financial outcomes.
• Oversee, coordinate, or execute emergency responses to service disruptions within the geographic territory.
• Maintain seasonal plans for winter, floods, and fire management.
• Manage employees according to the collective agreement and resolve disputes or grievances as necessary.
• Gather and document information to aid in annual and multi-year capital planning priorities.
• Oversee quality assurance for Track Programs and Equipment (TP&E) projects.
• Ensure CPKC is aligned with FRA regulatory processes.
