URBN is opening Terrain Cafe in Wayland and seeks an Assistant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and ensure a best-in-class guest experience. You will support the General Manager and whole team by planning, directing dining, front-of-house, and beverage programming activities.

This role requires a track record of restaurant leadership, strong communication, and a passion for hospitality, with the ability to manage schedules, costs, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year management experience
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to reach, bend and stoop

Role Summary

Terrain Cafe was originally inspired by the idea of merging house and garden to create an immersive natural environment where customers can come to unwind, explore, and celebrate. With four established locations from Pennsylvania to Connecticut, we are thrilled to be opening our doors in Wayland. We’re currently seeking the right team to help us cultivate a welcoming space and share our Terrain Cafe hospitality with our new neighbors.

The Assistant Management team leads hourly teams to deliver a best-in-class brand experience, overseeing floor operations to ensure our signature standards of hospitality are met. Administratively, the AM team supports the business through varying supportive functions—whether through payroll, ensuring that all team members are accurately compensated for their time, or through purchasing, ensuring that the business has all items needed to secure sales, including beverage and dry goods. The Assistant Manager team works in collaboration with the General Manager and AGM, reaching targets for controllable spending, including COGS and labor.

Essential Duties

• Manage beverage program; maintain relationships with purveyors, manage and submission of inventory, participation in menu development
• Assists the General Manager in hiring, training, developing, scheduling and evaluating employees through daily line-up, staff programs and daily evaluation of restaurant service performance
• Enforces company standards, policies, and procedures, including sanitation, safety, dress codes, and cash handling
• Interacts with guests to obtain feedback; effectively responds to and handles guest issues and complaints at all times acting as a brand ambassador
• Encourages a positive work environment for all staff

Pay Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
