Job summary

Pet Paradise is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Plano Custer Resort to oversee daily operations, staff scheduling, and guest relations. You will partner with the Resort Manager on a range of needs and ensure a safe, clean, and engaging environment for pets and their parents.

The role emphasizes leadership, staffing, training, and delivering outstanding customer service while maintaining quality standards and supporting company programs and incentives.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills; can train and motivate staff.
• Ability to resolve conflict, build relationships, and engage with customers.
• Detail-oriented with results focus; able to develop and train staff.
• Leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations, or similar.
• Previous animal care experience preferred.
• Comfortable around dogs; lift up to 60 lbs; able to work in front and back of house.
• Flexibility to cover resort schedule including holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily resort operations to maintain standards of conduct, cleanliness, and safety.
• Manage resort labor; create/approve schedules; monitor timecards and labor hours.
• Recruiting needs communication to management and HR; interview & onboarding staff.
• Supervise and coach team members on standards and policies; identify high performers.
• Motivate staff to deliver premier service to pet guests and parents in a safe, clean environment.
• Maintain open communication with regional/corporate teams and maintenance for issues.
• Support staff training and completion of required courses.
• Deliver employee corrective actions and terminations when necessary.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, plan lodging calendars, lead meetings, and MOD duties.
• Maintain strong customer service metrics and address customer concerns professionally.
