Pet Paradise in Birmingham, AL, is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee day-to-day resort operations and staff, while supporting the Resort Manager in a dynamic pet-care environment.

You will supervise schedules, recruit and onboard team members, coach staff on company standards, and ensure top-notch safety, cleanliness, and guest service. This role requires a strong leader with hospitality experience and a willingness to work flexible hours.

Formación

• 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage, guide, train, and motivate employees.
• Prior leadership in retail, restaurant, hospitality operations or similar.
• Previous experience in animal care or related field preferred.
• Comfortable around dogs and able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Willingness to work a varied resort schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and working motor vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee daily resort operations and staff, supporting the Resort Manager on a variety of management needs.
• Create and post staff schedules, review and approve timecards, and control labor hours.
• Recruit, interview, hire and onboard new resort employees.
• Supervise, train and coach team members on standards, policies and procedures.
• Motivate staff to deliver premier service to pets and their parents in a safe, clean, and fun atmosphere.
• Foster open communication with regional and corporate teams and partner with maintenance for issues.
• Support training with completion of required courses and other programs.
• Document and deliver employee corrective actions and terminations when necessary.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, run lodging calendars, lead meetings, and MOD duties.
• Maintain high customer service metrics (NPS, online reviews).
• Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
• Develop methods to increase sales, promote new business, and retain customers.
• Perform resort opening/closing duties and other assigned tasks.
• Work 5-day weeks onsite with weekends and holidays as needed.
