Who we are:

Developmental Disabilities Institute, DDI, is one of the largest providers of care to children and adults with Autism, developmental disabilities and other special needs. DDI has been a part of Long Island for over 50 years serving over 1,500 children and adults with Autism, other developmental disabilities and special needs. DDI provides innovative and expansive services to our population through various educational settings, residential services, day habilitation programs and vocational services.

Salary: $20.40 - $24.48/ hour

What You'll Do

  1. Responsible for daily supervision of staff activities; evaluation and administration of disciplinary action
  2. Knowledge of Emergency Procedures and accurate implementation of procedures in handling crisis situations as they arise
  3. AMAP Certification - Obtain within the first 90 days in position and keep current
  4. Train and supervise new staff to work with individual(s) served, and ensure active treatment for the shift you supervise
  5. Assist Program Manager with solving staff issues, disputes, and completing required paperwork
  6. Instruction and documentation of formal goals and protocols in accordance with the CFA/ISP.
  7. Implementation of Behavior Plans and all other components of the annual plan.
  8. Evaluate (monthly) progress as related to short term objectives and formulation of new objectives based on level attained
  9. Accompany individuals on medical appointments
  10. Completion of incident reports and (SCIP-R reports)
  11. Participate in the development and revisions of formal goals, protocols, and Behavior Plans
  12. Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Meetings, attend staff meetings and annual recertification trainings
What You Offer Us

  1. High School Diploma, BA/BS preferred
  2. One (1) year experience working with developmentally disabled adults, required
  3. Valid NYS driver’s license and approved to drive by DDI’s Transportation Department
  4. Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Support
