Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing & SOM Manager to lead daily purchasing, procurement, and order management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in California. You will ensure materials are sourced efficiently, orders are processed accurately, and cross-functional teams stay aligned to meet business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in purchasing or order management, strong leadership, ERP and Excel proficiency, and a track record of cost reductions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
• 5+ years in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or order management.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience up to 15-20 people.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience in semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing industry.
• Knowledge of MRP planning and inventory management.
• Supplier management and vendor performance analysis.
• Experience driving cost reduction and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing activities, including PO, vendor management, and procurement planning.
• Monitor sales order processing for accurate entry and timely fulfillment.
• Lead and develop Purchasing and SOM team members.
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage pricing and expedite critical orders.
• Partner with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service.
• Analyze MRP data, purchasing trends, inventory needs, and order backlogs.
• Maintain vendor, pricing, and customer data within ERP systems.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Track supplier performance and on-time delivery.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day team management.

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing & Sales Order Management (SOM) Manager to support and oversee daily purchasing, procurement, and order management operations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, customer orders are processed accurately, and cross-functional teams remain aligned to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate has strong supply chain experience, leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to improve processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee purchasing activities, including purchase orders, vendor management, and procurement planning.
• Monitor sales order processing to ensure accurate, timely order entry and fulfillment.
• Lead and develop Purchasing and SOM team members through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage pricing, expedite critical orders, resolve delivery issues, and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Partner with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure smooth execution of customer orders and supply chain operations.
• Analyze MRP data, purchasing trends, inventory needs, and order backlogs to support operational efficiency.
• Maintain vendor, pricing, and customer information within ERP systems.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Track key performance metrics, including supplier performance and on-time delivery.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day team management activities.
