Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Assistant Purchasing & SOM Manager to support daily purchasing, procurement, and order management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will lead a team, manage ERP data, and collaborate with Sales, Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency.

The role requires strong supply chain experience, leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
• 8+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or order management experience.
• 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee purchasing activities, including purchase orders, vendor management, and procurement planning.
• Monitor sales order processing to ensure accurate, timely order entry and fulfillment.
• Lead and develop Purchasing and SOM team members through training, coaching, and performance management.
• Collaborate with suppliers to manage pricing, expedite critical orders, resolve delivery issues, and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Partner with internal teams including Sales, Operations, Logistics, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure smooth execution of customer orders and supply chain operations.
• Analyze MRP data, purchasing trends, inventory needs, and order backlogs to support operational efficiency.
• Maintain vendor, pricing, and customer information within ERP systems.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and process improvements.
• Track key performance metrics, including supplier performance and on-time delivery.
• Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and day-to-day team management activities.
