Job summary

Epicus Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Northern California team and support the end-to-end capital projects lifecycle for life sciences, energy, and government sector clients.

You will coordinate between clients, architects, engineers, and city officials, manage budgets and schedules, and help drive successful project delivery from planning through close-out. This role requires strong communication, organization, and a proactive mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or related field
• PMP, CCM, or LEED AP certification is desired
• Experience in the Northern California market with strong relationships to clients, design firms, general contractors, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of the real estate development lifecycle from programming through operations
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of capital projects, including planning, design, construction, and close-out within scope, budget, and schedule
• Assist with stakeholder engagement, needs assessments, business case development, and entitlement management
• Serve as the key coordination point between clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and city officials
• Support procurement for design and construction, including drafting scopes and negotiating contracts
• Prepare and implement the project execution plan and kick-off activities
• Oversee design/construction phases, including drawings, bid documents, and agency approvals
• Provide construction administration support with meetings, RFIs, submittals, and cost control
• Track budgets and schedules with project controls and analyze risks
• Assist in evaluating value engineering alternatives
• Coordinate project administration, forecasting, invoicing, and milestone tracking
• Coordinate architects’ review of contractor activities and ensure compliance
• Observe construction activities and escalate issues
• Document project meetings and communicate status to stakeholders
• Collaborate with Project Managers and team on milestones and progress
• Assist with project close-out including documentation and financial reconciliation
• Support business development, RFQ/RFP responses, proposals, and negotiations
• Represent the company at industry events to strengthen brand presence
