Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking an organized Assistant Project Manager to support delivery of healthcare and life science facility projects. You will assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution, ensuring compliance with OSHPD/HCIA regulations, and maintaining schedules and budgets.

The role requires hands-on construction management experience in healthcare or life science environments, with strong communication to coordinate contractors, design teams, and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction-related field.
  • 2+ years of construction project delivery experience, preferably in healthcare or life science.
  • Direct OSHPD/ HCIA experience and related compliance/ approvals.
  • Experience on life science labs, vivariums, or pharmaceutical fit-outs.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, MS Project, Primavera) and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in planning and executing healthcare and life science projects regulated by OSHPD/HCIA; manage schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation using PM platforms (e.g., Procore, Prolog).
  • Prepare and review OSHPD/HCIA documentation; ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate approvals and inspections.
  • Assist with site coordination, daily construction supervision, and contractor oversight for quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with design teams, MEP engineers and vendors for life science lab fit-outs; ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Track project costs, review pay apps, assist forecasting, and maintain financial records.
  • Facilitate meetings and prepare progress reports; communicate schedule, budget, and risk updates to teams and clients.
  • Support QA/QC, safety compliance and turnover processes including punch lists and as-builts.

Assistant Project Manager

We are seeking an organized, proactive Assistant Project Manager to support delivery of healthcare and life science facility projects. The role will assist Project Managers with planning, coordination, and execution of Life Science, OSHPD/HCIA-regulated projects, ensuring compliance, schedule and budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes for clients. This position requires hands-on construction management experience in life science or healthcare environments and strong communication skills to coordinate contractors, design teams and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers in planning and executing healthcare and life science projects regulated by OSHPD and HCIA, including preparing and maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, change orders and construction documentation using project management platforms (e.g., Procore, Prolog).
  • Prepare and review OSHPD and HCIA documentation, ensure regulatory compliance and facilitate approvals and inspections.
  • Assist with site coordination, daily construction supervision, and contractor oversight to ensure quality, safety and adherence to contract documents.
  • Collaborate with design teams, MEP engineers and specialty vendors on life science lab fit-outs, ensuring installation meets program and regulatory requirements.
  • Track project costs, review pay applications, assist with forecasting and maintain accurate project financial records.
  • Facilitate meetings, prepare progress reports and communicate schedule, budget and risk updates to internal teams and clients.
  • Support QA/QC, safety compliance and closeout activities including punch lists, as-built documentation and turnover packages.
  • Identify potential project risks and assist with developing mitigation strategies and corrective actionst.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in construction project delivery, with demonstrable experience as an Assistant Project Manager on healthcare or life science projects.
  • Direct experience and working knowledge of OSHPD processes and documentation requirements and HCIA-related compliance and approvals.
  • Experience on life science projects (labs, vivariums, pharmaceutical fit-outs) with understanding of specialized MEP systems and laboratory standards.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera or equivalent), BIM coordination workflows and common office software.
  • Strong skills in schedule and budget monitoring, change management submittal/RFI administration and contract document interpretation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to engage clients, contractors and regulatory agencies effectively.
  • Valid OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training and a valid drivers license.
  • Nice to have: experience on Public Works projects and prior roles as Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer; professional licensure (PE) or CCM is a plus.
