MILLER Brothers is a fourth-generation, veteran- and woman-owned commercial GC, and we're in a scaling phase — we just expanded our physical office to support it. That growth means a real career runway for the person who owns their own development. We are a nearly 120-year-old company and the mentorship and relationships across the industry that come with that are hard to match elsewhere. I need someone who can take on real authority now and grow into more of it as we grow. Our core values are central to everything we do: Do it For the People, Own It, Innovate & Learn Relentlessly.
If you want a seat where you process paperwork and wait your turn, this isn't it. If you want a seat where you own outcomes, get mentored by people who've done this for decades, and get evaluated on results, keep reading.
What we offer
- Real authority, not a training wheel: You'll own your budget, negotiate your own change orders, and run your own subcontractor meetings — not shadow someone else's.
- Compensation tied to what you take on: $70,000–$105,000 base, plus target performance-based bonus.
- Growth you build, not growth we schedule: You will have direct exposure to the budgets, the owners, and company leadership from day one.
- Daily Operations with Leadership: You'll work alongside our senior PMs daily, interact with company leadership weekly, not three layers removed from the decisions that matter.
What you'll do
- Own project documentation, contracts, and closeout — but as the person managing the process, not just filing it.
- Assist in building and managing project budgets; review, code, and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices; prepare and negotiate change orders.
- Run RFIs and submittals; maintain accurate as-builts via the Superintendent and contract documents.
- Lead subcontractor and project meetings, with support scaling down as you scale up.
- Contribute to scheduling, logistics, and quality control — and speak up when something's off, not just report it.
- Partner directly with our Superintendents and senior PMs on live commercial projects.
- Take ownership of the project closeout process from punch list to final documentation.
What we're looking for, but not required
- 2–5 years of commercial construction experience, ideally with a general contractor.
- Someone who wants to run the job, not just support the person running it.
- High standards and the willingness to say something when the standard isn't being met.
- Comfortable with speed — we move fast, and we expect our people to move with us.
- Working knowledge of Google workspace, the ability to pick up Procore, BlueBeam, and MS Projects or equivalent scheduling software quickly. Our APM role is expected to build and manage AI Agents to automate 92% of their role from Day 1 so that they can spend more time on higher leverage tasks like building relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience will absolutely be considered.
- Ultimately, this person just needs to be able to jump in, learn quickly, take action, and anticipate problems, and own solutions fully - for the right person, the construction piece can be taught. This is more about mindset than anything else.
