Job description

Step into a key Project Manager role with a growing commercial contractor that delivers ground‑up, design‑build, and TI projects across sectors like churches, schools, QSR, and memory care. This position is perfect for an experienced PM who can immediately take ownership of $3-$5M projects and thrives in a collaborative, low‑ego, team‑driven environment.

The client is a growing commercial general contractor based in the south metro, known for delivering high‑quality ground‑up and design‑build projects. Founded in the 2000's, they operate with a tight, supportive team where every voice matters, collaboration is the norm, and leadership is calm, analytical, and deeply invested in developing their people.

With strong repeat business (60%+), a healthy backlog, and several new commercial TI and design‑build projects kicking off, they're ready to scale into a mid‑sized GC - and need experienced PMs who can help drive that growth. The culture is friendly, hardworking, and team‑oriented, with shared problem‑solving and a genuine "everyone helps everyone" mentality.

Description
  • Manage ground‑up, design‑build, and TI projects from kickoff through closeout
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination
  • Estimate your own work, prepare bids, and support preconstruction
  • Drive client communication, committee presentations, and progress updates
  • Prepare monthly draws and work closely with accounting
  • Oversee project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Collaborate closely with the owner, PM team, and three field Superintendents
  • Travel occasionally (typically 1-2 nights per month) for key clients
  • Represent the company professionally in client meetings and community settings
Profile
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial GC
  • Proven ability to run ground‑up and design‑build projects independently
  • Experience in churches, schools, assisted living, QSR, or memory care is a major pluser
  • Strong estimating skills - able to bid and manage your own projects
  • Proficient or familiar with Procore, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet
  • High‑energy, positive, and proactive - someone who takes initiative
  • Comfortable presenting to committees and client groups
  • Client‑focused, personable, and able to build long‑term relationships
  • Thrives in a small, collaborative, non‑ego environment
  • Multifamily and residential‑only backgrounds are not a fit
Job Offer
  • Vehicle + cell phone allowance
  • Flexible work culture: no strict 9-5; in‑office preferred but flexible for life events
  • Travel: minimal - typically once a month for a night or two
  • Growth path: opportunity to help shape a GC scaling into mid‑size
  • Supportive leadership: calm, analytical owner who values input and team problem‑solving
  • Culture: friendly, collaborative, and low‑ego
