Job summary

Keeley Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our Civil Energy Team in St. Louis, MO. This onsite role supports estimating, scheduling, safety, and quality controls across projects, coordinating with estimators, suppliers, and field supervision to keep milestones on track.

The ideal candidate has a construction-focused degree and at least two years of relevant experience, with strong MS Office skills and a collaborative mindset to manage site activities effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Understanding of substation, transmission/distribution, and/or deep foundation drilling projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in total project management including estimating, scheduling, safety, operations & quality.
• Manage a small project with weekly guidance from upper management.
• Assist in managing project risk related to safety, contractual terms, and site coordination.
• Identify and prevent safety, quality, and incident issues on job sites.
• Coordinate project schedule, milestones, and subcontractor/crew/equipment planning.
• Collaborate with suppliers and field supervision to meet material needs.
• Support pre-construction meetings with estimators and supervisors to advance progress.
• Facilitate project controls, documentation, and budgeting; notify leaders of budget impacts.
• Assist in change orders and close-out documentation with clients.
• Coordinate resources with other project managers, superintendents, and engineers.

Keeley Construction is looking to hire an Assistant Project Manager for our Civil Energy Team in St. Louis, MO.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in total project management related to estimating, scheduling, safety, operations & quality.
• Ability to manage a small project with weekly review/guidance from upper management.
• Assist in managing the risk in relation to job-site safety, owner contractual terms, city and/or county specifications, and other contractors that could be working on-site.
• Recognize, identify, and prevent issues with safety, quality, and incidents on and around job sites and work areas.
• Help coordinate the project schedule to ensure project milestones are met. Begin to plan work and schedule subcontractors, crews, and equipment.
• Work with suppliers and field supervision to coordinate material needs.
• Work with estimators in pre-construction meetings with key supervisors in operations to assist in the productive progress of a project.
• Assist in facilitating all project controls, documentation, and procedures. Maintain current budgets and notify leaders of any budget impacts.
• Work with more senior team members to facilitate change orders and close out documentation with clients.
• Coordinate resources with other project managers, general superintendents, project engineers, etc.
• Assist in documenting all project impacts in relation to the project schedule, budget, and plans.
• Begin to identify and rectify potential and actual project delays throughout the project.
• Manage all job costs incurred during project to date and predict estimated costs on remaining production.
• Manage LCPR & Material Logs to account for FCAC.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field plus a minimum of two years of experience performing primary responsibilities listed above.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Background of technical skills and understanding of substation, transmission/distribution, and/or deep foundation drilling projects.
• Ability to build and maintain a positive working relationship with staff, vendors, and clients.
• Understanding of obtaining permits, meeting owners’ contractual requirements (i.e. submittals, insurance/bonds, billing documents, close out documents, etc.), time keeping, progress reports, billing and collection, subcontracts, accounts payable, change orders, etc.
