Job Description: Assistant Project Manager

Position Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager will have the ability to run small projects and provide necessary support for projects within Vantage Builders. The role involves helping implement project goals as directed by the Project Managers, creating and delivering reports, analyzing data from project execution, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with project managers to help implement project goals.
  • Manage small projects under the supervision of project executives and/or project managers.
  • Oversee various aspects of projects and assist in ensuring timely execution.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to procure materials and other items necessary for project completion.
  • Create and maintain project files, including change orders, procurement documents, logs, certificates of insurance, and schedules.
  • Attend project meetings with the Project Manager and prepare minutes for subsequent meetings.
  • Interface with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and owners throughout the project.
  • Occasionally cover project sites on a short-term basis if needed.
  • Work with the accounting department to ensure timely submission of purchase orders and change orders.
  • Process final documents for project close-out.
  • Ensure completion of punch-list items, start warranty period, and review/issue operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings before project close-out.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a project engineer or in related roles.
  • Training in OSHA construction safety and environmental compliance, including OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Procore.
  • Ability to read and analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
  • Self-motivated and committed to delivering excellent client service.
