Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate contract activities with the Project Manager to meet goals within timeframes and budget.
  • Coordinate with the COR and staff to address concerns and provide status reports.
  • Oversee safety procedures, chemical usage, inventory control, and equipment operations.
  • Provide leadership by fostering teamwork and ensuring staff development and training.
  • Promote Human Rights and ensure training, incident reporting, and responsibilities are observed.
  • Prepare and submit required data, reports, and summaries.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships and vendor communications for efficient operations.
  • Operate Didlake vehicles and equipment per safety and company policy.

Why This Role Matters

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of custodial services, ensuring quality performance, customer satisfaction, and efficient service delivery. In the absence of the Project Manager, this role serves as a key liaison between Didlake, customers, and staff while helping oversee operations and supporting a workforce dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

What You Will Do

  • Works alongside the Project Manager to direct and coordinate contract activities and ensure goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budget parameters.
  • Coordinates with the Contract Officer Representative (COR) and other appropriate staff to address concerns, proposed solutions, and provide regular status reports.
  • Oversees efficiency, quality control, chemical usage and inventory, health and safety procedures, and the proper use of equipment to ensure contract requirements and federal and company standards are met or exceeded.
  • Provides leadership by fostering teamwork; modeling dependability, hard work, strong ethics, and professional appearance; identifying staff development opportunities; assigning training; and giving feedback to nurture a positive environment and quality performance.
  • Cultivates an atmosphere that promotes Human Rights for all individuals with disabilities and ensures training, incident reporting, and awareness of personnel responsibilities regarding Human Rights.
  • Prepares and submits required data, reports, and summaries.
  • Responsible for subcontractor follow-up and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors to ensure efficient operations.
  • Serves as a good steward of government funding and facilities.
  • Manages supervisors, evaluates worker performance, makes recommendations to Human Resources on personnel actions, completes essential site contract duties, and performs additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Operates Didlake vehicles and equipment as needed to support contract operations while adhering to all safety, licensing, and company requirements.
Requirements

What You Bring

You bring proven experience in custodial and/or building maintenance services, along with demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams and supporting daily operations. You are a dependable leader with strong communication skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to foster teamwork while delivering exceptional service.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in custodial and/or building maintenance services required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of federal contracts, budgets, safety, and health regulations is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the safe operation and use of industrial cleaning products and equipment.
  • A valid REAL ID is required to enter this worksite.
  • Possess the ability to pass a background check and maintain a clearance.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability under Didlake's automobile policy required (at least 25 years of age with three (3) years of licensed driving experience).
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact, train, and resolve the personnel issues of maintenance staff with disabilities.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to read documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and present information to employees.
  • Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office, search engines, smartphones, and phone applications.
  • Project a positive and professional image to the public, co-workers, and Didlake clients.
