Job summary

Didlake, Inc. seeks an Assistant Project Manager to support environmental management for the Regional NAVFAC site custodial services. You will serve as liaison between Didlake Corporate and the site Contracting Officer, helping ensure effective communication, safety compliance, and contract performance.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing management-level support in the day-to-day environmental concerns and environmental operations of the Regional NAVFAC site custodial services . The Assistant Project Manager serves along with the Project Manager or as primary liaison in the Project Manager's absence to ensure effective communication between Didlake Corporate office and the site Contracting Officer and assists with site health and safety efforts.

What You Will Do
  • Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating environmental management activities to ensure program goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.
  • Ensures compliance with environmental management contractual requirements.
  • Assists the Project Manager in monitoring environmental management efficiency and quality control indicators to ensure contract requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinates with the Contracting Officer and appropriate staff to address environmental management concerns and proposed solutions during the Program Manager's absence.
  • Meets regularly with the Project Manager and Contracting Officer to provide written and verbal status reports.
  • Manages chemical, material, and compound purchasing; monitors chemical usage and inventory to promote environmentally preferable products.
  • Maintains knowledge of environmental issues and ensures compliance with environmental protection laws.
Leadership & Administration
  • Confers with project management staff to develop environmental management plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Provides leadership by fostering teamwork, balancing team and individual responsibilities, providing constructive feedback, and modeling professionalism, dependability, hard work, and strong business ethics.
  • Prepares and submits required data, reports, summaries, and other documentation.
Employee Welfare & Compliance
  • Ensures employee safety through compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Reviews and implements health and safety procedures to meet federal and company standards and supports Safety Committee activities.
  • Promotes Human Rights by ensuring staff training, incident reporting, and awareness of responsibilities.
Personnel & Rehabilitation
  • Conducts interviews and selects qualified candidates for employment.
  • Ensures time study compliance and conducts time studies for direct reports.
  • Coordinates with Rehabilitation Department staff to implement individual program plans.
  • Documents job observations for direct reports.
Operations
  • Transports direct reports, supplies, and equipment to work sites as needed.
  • Completes all required Didlake training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or specified in the Statement of Work.
Requirements
What You Bring

This role is well- suited for someone with experience leading environmental services or facilities operations with responsibility for regulatory compliance, employee supervision, and contract performance. Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety requirements, with the ability to manage projects, develop staff, and maintain quality standards.

Education & Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in custodial, environmental services, facilities management, or commercial operations required .
  • Federal contract experience preferred.
  • Experience leading and supervising diverse teams preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
  • Access to this worksite requires a valid REAL ID.
  • Havea valid driver's license and be insurable under Didlake's automobile policy. Requirements include but are not limited to a minimum of 3 years of licensed driving and being at least 25 years old.
  • Knowledge of federal contracts, budgets, safety, health, and personnel management regulations is required .
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate credentials and background check required by contract.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to read and interpret daily work plans, operating instructions, and procedural manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and present information to facility personnel and groups of employees.
  • Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with, train, and resolve personnel issues involving maintenance staff with disabilities.
