Job summary

VOAMASS in Massachusetts seeks an Assistant Program Director to support the SSVF program across Boston and South Shore. The role blends administration, supervision, and program oversight to help veterans and their families achieve housing stability and access to healthcare.

You will supervise Shallow Subsidy, Housing Navigation, and Healthcare Navigation staff, develop policies, ensure grant compliance, and partner with community stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, human services, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years in homeless services with supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of housing resources in Boston and South Shore regions.
• Experience in housing navigation, healthcare navigation, and subsidies preferred.
• Experience reporting to funders and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Oversee weekly supervision of Shallow Subsidy, Housing Navigation, and Healthcare Navigation staff.
• Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures for staff training and monitoring.
• Promote homelessness prevention and rapid re-housing practices within SSVF.
• Support day-to-day operations and coordinate with the case management team.
• Oversee referrals to Shallow Subsidy, Housing Navigation, and Healthcare Navigation to ensure timeliness and coordination.
• Monitor service delivery and outcomes to help veterans achieve housing stability and healthcare access.
• Prepare program reports and assist with audits and compliance activities.
