Job summary

Youth and Family Advocates is seeking an Assistant Program Director for Residential Services to oversee day-to-day operations, budgets, and staff in a specified geographic area. This role requires supervising staff, maintaining community relationships, and ensuring trauma-informed care for youth and families.

The position emphasizes collaboration with partner organizations, adherence to policies, and ongoing staff development while supporting program leadership in the director's absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Social Work or related field of study.
• Subject matter expertise in Residential Group Home/Shelter Management; 6+ years’ experience in human services.
• Ability to practice self-well care and seek support as needed to prevent burnout while providing trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day operations and budget management for the program.
• Supervise program staff and support supervisors daily.
• Interact with community/professional leaders and maintain relationships/networks.
• Collaborate with partner organizations as a team member.
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment for youth, families, and colleagues, ensuring emotional and physical security without re-traumatization.
• Follow Trauma-informed approach and demonstrate sensitivity to individuals’ needs and experiences.
• Provide Shelter Management oversight in the Program Director's absence.
• Offer daily support and technical assistance to supervisors and staff.
• Knowledge of interagency agreements/contracts.
• Participate in community/regional committees and collaborative teams as directed.
• Identify and coordinate training needs for staff development, ensuring annual training goals.
