The appointee will build a funded research program, teach core courses, mentor students, and collaborate across disciplines to advance food safety. Qualifications include a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent in food science, microbiology, genomics, ecology, computational biology, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish a competitively funded research program in genomics and ecology of foodborne pathogens.
• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., FST104, FST108).
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students; participate in curricular development.
• Engage in outreach and public service related to food safety and the AES mission.
• Collaborate across disciplines to translate findings into food safety practices.
