Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in St. Louis, MO seeks an Assistant Production Manager to support the Production Manager by organizing and supervising work in the Production Department.

This exempt role includes oversight of daily operations, staff performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards. You will assist with hiring, training, and evaluating staff, monitor labor utilization, and collaborate with engineering, sales, and service management to ensure smooth plant operation and efficient

Qualifications

• Organizational skills and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff.
• Good verbal and written communication in English; strong time management and teamwork.
• Ability to recognize colors, sizes, and types of products.

Responsibilities

• May hire and train new staff or assist management with this process.
• Conducts or assists with performance evaluations as requested by the Manager.
• Assists with employment actions including discipline and termination by policy.
• Monitors and recommends changes to improve labor utilization, production efficiency, and department expenses.
• Conducts new hire and ongoing training in all production departments.
• Consults with engineering, sales, and service management to ensure smooth plant operation.
• Executes company production policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitors adherence to production, quality, housekeeping, and safety standards.
• Manages department budgets and employee relations as directed by supervision.
