Job summary

SteveRecruiter, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects around Virginia. You will work with senior PMs on roadway and utility work, including VDOT projects, with relocation available.

Responsibilities include driving submittals and RFIs, coordinating subs and PO's, tracking quantities and costs, and supporting schedule updates. A BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required along with DOT experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects in roles like Field Engineer, Project Engineer or APM.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience a plus.
• Valid driver's license; relocation to Virginia is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
