Job summary

Management Performance Associates in Fredericksburg, VA area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for heavy civil highway and utility projects across Virginia. You'll work with a senior PM on roadway and utility work, with relocation assistance available for the right candidate.

Requirements include 3+ years on heavy civil or DOT projects, scheduling/cost tracking knowledge, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and willingness to relocate within Virginia.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer or APM
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience is a plus
• Valid driver's license
• Based in Virginia or ready to relocate, relocation assistance available

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections
• Support schedule updates and change management
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives
• Keep project documentation clean and current
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture
