Job summary

Calqulate Metrics Ltd in Fredericksburg, VA area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our heavy civil highway and utilities team on Virginia DOT projects. You’ll work with a senior PM to drive submittals, RFIs, procurement and cost control, with relocation assistance available.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in heavy civil/DOT environments, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, and familiarity with scheduling and cost tracking.

Qualifications

• 3+ years on heavy civil, highway or utility projects as a Field Engineer, Project Engineer or APM.
• VDOT or other DOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of scheduling and cost tracking.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field experience.
• HeavyJob, Bluebeam or P6 experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Based in Virginia or ready to relocate, relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities

• Drive submittals, RFIs and procurement so field crews stay ahead of the work.
• Coordinate subcontractors and supplier purchase orders.
• Track quantities, production and cost against budget.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and cost projections.
• Support schedule updates and change management.
• Work with VDOT inspectors and owner representatives.
• Keep project documentation clean and current.
• Take part in weekly schedule and cost reviews with the project team.
• Support a strong jobsite safety culture.
