Job summary

Airgas is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager in Riverton, NJ to partner with the Plant Manager and lead daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient and productive performance. The role involves hands-on leadership of plant staff, guiding gas cylinder processing, ultrasonic testing, and compliance with FDA/DOT/OSHA/EPA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytics and ability to use metrics to improve efficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Basic math skills to compute rates and units.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Detail oriented with compliant documentation.
• Commitment to product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two or more associates in plant-related activities.
• Coordinate with Plant Supervisors for day-to-day operations.
• Promote safety and compliance culture and address unsafe practices.
• Schedule work based on customer needs and stock levels.
• Maintain production records and time logs.
• Guide new team members and cross-train staff.
• Assist Plant Manager with capital investments planning.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment.
• Handle additional duties and projects as assigned.
