Job summary

Airgas is seeking an Area Operations Manager to lead the Handling & Filling plant, drive production efficiency, and ensure safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the operation. You will manage a diverse team and partner with procurement, maintenance, and quality to meet customer demand.

The role emphasizes leadership, budget planning, and regulatory compliance, with a focus on lean improvements and staff development within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• College degree in supply chain management or logistics management or related field desired.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution operation.
• Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support day-to-day operations of the Handling & Filling plant to drive production efficiency.
• Coordinate production schedules to meet customer needs and balance resources.
• Maintain and elevate quality standards for all products handled and filled in the plant.
• Attract, mentor, and empower a diverse plant team.
• Prepare annual operating budgets and manage labor, materials, maintenance, and capital growth.
• Oversee maintenance of plant machinery to minimize downtime and advance operational excellence.
• Maintain alignment with environmental, health, and safety standards.
• Cultivate continuous growth and lean principles across the plant.
