City of Indianapolis seeks an Assistant Park Manager to oversee park programs, facilities, and staff. You will help design recreational offerings across aquatics, arts, sports, and youth programs, while managing budgets and partnerships to serve the community.

The role requires strong communication, customer service, and the ability to work under general supervision. Travel between locations and on-call hours are possible as part of park operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years of recreation-related experience.
• Ability to work under general supervision.
• Self-motivated and dependable.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Customer service oriented.
• Licenses/Certifications: CPR/First Aid Teaching Certificate, Indiana Public Passengers Chauffeurs License, NYSCA Clinician Certification, CPRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement recreational programs in core areas (aquatics, sports/fitness, arts, youth/family, seniors, special needs, day camp).
• Develop and manage fiscal resources, contracts and partnerships for the park.
• Coordinate a volunteer park advisory council.
• Train and develop park personnel on-site.
• Assess community recreational needs and evaluate programs and services.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and advise on-site staff, volunteers and contractors.
• Develop and monitor the park's budget and revenue goals.
• Oversee ordering of supplies and maintenance of resources.
• Ensure adherence to department policies and customer service standards.
