Job summary

The Maryland Office of Correctional Ombudsman is seeking an Assistant Ombudsman to oversee operations within DPSCS and/or DJJS facilities in Baltimore. This position will advise the Deputy Ombudsman on key oversight issues and drive changes to improve service delivery.

Responsibilities include timely reporting on facility conditions in coordination with leadership and ensuring compliance with OCO policies, procedures, and daily operations, along with maintaining clear and effective communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
• Experience substituting credits or degrees may apply per state rules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations within DPSCS and/or DJJS facilities.
• Advise the Deputy Ombudsman on significant oversight issues.
• Prepare timely reports on facility conditions with leadership.
• Maintain compliance with OCO policies and ensure service delivery.
• Ensure timely and effective communication across teams.
