Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to provide operational and administrative support to Nurse leadership. You will coordinate staffing, throughput, and quality outcomes while ensuring staff competency and compliance with standards.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, you will participate in unit and hospital decision-making, oversee performance evaluations, and lead initiatives to recognize and develop frontline staff.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience in respective specialty or equivalent.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, accountability for improving lives, teamwork, ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR management with Nurse Manager, including recruitment and staff rounding.
• Assist with unit goals, staffing, and budget oversight; monitor productivity and care throughput.
• Lead quality and safety initiatives; participate in performance improvement projects and root cause analyses.
• Mentor staff, conduct evaluations, and model professional behavior across the unit.
