Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to lead nursing teams, coordinate staffing, and support patient care delivery in alignment with our mission and values. The ANM collaborates with Nurse leadership to ensure throughput, quality, and safety outcomes while fostering staff competency and engagement.

Qualifications include a NJ RN license, ADN or Diploma, and 3 years of OR experience; BSN in progress preferred.

Qualifications

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Minimum 3 years recent nursing experience in OR or equivalent.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in recruitment and retention strategies.
• Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees.
• Participates with unit goal creation which are reflective of the hospital goals as well as the mission and vision of Hackensack Meridian Health.
• Participate or lead evidence-based practice projects or research; participate or lead unit-based or hospital-based governance committees or councils.
• Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions and positive outcomes if possible.
• Complete employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessary.
• Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
• Prepare and conduct periodic performance evaluations to assigned staff members.
• Contribute to and/or monitor the unit orientation process of all roles as necessary; recognize employees.
• Model cultural competence and diversity to foster effective work groups.
• Escalates nursing labor/management issues where applicable.
