Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) who is a registered nurse and a skilled communicator, collaborator, and authentic leader. The ANM provides operational support to Nurse leadership, coordinates staffing, throughput, and quality outcomes while guiding staff performance and development.

Under the Nurse Manager, the ANM participates in decision-making, supports hiring, evaluates practice, and leads staff through policy implementation.

Qualifications

• NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS/HLCP) Certification.
• National Certification acceptable to Magnet Recognition within two years of hire.
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing.
• BSN in progress or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of recent nursing experience in the respective specialty or related leadership roles.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, and lead with accountability and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Participate with recruitment and retention strategies.
• Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees.
• Participates in unit goals aligning with hospital objectives and mission.
• Lead or participate in evidence‑based practice projects or research.
• Lead or participate in unit‑based or hospital governance activities.
• Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with organizational competencies and standards.
