PeaceHealth is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the ICU Stepdown Unit to lead daily operations, support staffing, and mentor a dedicated team of caregivers in a fast-paced critical care environment.

The role partners with the Nurse Manager to drive high-quality patient outcomes, safety, and professional growth, with a focus on servant leadership and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience as charge nurse or in a supervisory role.
• Experience with budgeting and resource management.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range: $64.55 - $96.83 per hour

What You'll Do

As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will:

• Partner with the Nurse Manager to lead daily operations and ensure high-quality patient care delivery.
• Support caregiver recruitment, onboarding, staffing, scheduling, and retention efforts.
• Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff through performance management, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, and patient-centered culture built on compassion, accountability, and teamwork.
• Assist with budgeting, resource management, and operational planning.
• Help develop and implement policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices that drive outstanding patient outcomes.
• Champion quality, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational and departmental goals.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Minimum of three years of nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous charge nurse, supervisory, or leadership experience.
• Financial and budget management experience.
• Strong communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience for This ICU Stepdown Leadership Opportunity

• Recent charge nurse experience within the past two years.
• ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through change, support professional development, and foster a culture of excellence.
• Experience utilizing evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies to improve patient outcomes.
