Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a professional nurse leader responsible for daily operations in a patient care area/department. They focus on safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. Collaborating with the Nurse Manager, they help maintain a financially stable unit and promote staff development through evidence-based practice and education within a Practice Governance framework. They supervise licensed and non-licensed staff, and when providing direct care, assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans. They apply their educational and professional experience to deliver quality care and mentor staff. Ensuring the Swanson Theory of Caring and patient/family-centered care underpin nursing practice, they involve staff at all levels in resource allocation, interdisciplinary activities, and collaboration.

Qualifications

Required:

  • One year as a Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (must obtain a BSN, MSN, or DNP within three years)
  • Registered Nurse (KY)
