Responsibilities

The Assistant Nurse Manager is a professional nurse leader responsible for the daily operations of a patient care area/department. They focus on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The Assistant Nurse Manager collaborates with the Nurse Manager to maintain a financially stable unit and promotes staff development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education, supported by a Practice Governance framework. They supervise licensed and non-licensed staff and, when in a direct care role, assess, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans. They apply their educational and professional experiences to deliver quality care and mentor staff. The Assistant Nurse Manager ensures that the Swanson Theory of Caring and patient/family-centered care underpin nursing practice and involves staff at all levels in resource allocation, interdisciplinary activities, and collaboration.


Qualifications

Required:

  • One year of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Associate Degree in Nursing - Must obtain a BSN, MSN, or DNP within three years
  • Registered Nurse (KY)
