Brainerd Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Nordic Ski Coach for Middle School / Junior High. This part-time position has flexible hours and reports to the Activities Coordinator within the Athletics/Activities department, district-wide location.

The role emphasizes leadership in Nordic skiing knowledge, guiding practices and meets, ensuring safety, encouraging student participation, and collaborating with families and community resources to support a high-quality program.

Qualifications

• High school degree, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work effectively with parents, students, and other staff.
• Previous coaching experience preferred.
• Willingness to accept and follow direction.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
• General office skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Coach provides leadership and expertise regarding the rules, strategies, and techniques for the nordic skiing, utilizing knowledge of the specific equipment, physical fitness and safety to prepare participants mentally and physically to compete at the highest level.
